Believe it or not, inspiration is the main key to success in your life, both at home and in the workplace, says Dr Imran Akram, ex CEO of Asons Solicitors in Bolton, Greater Manchester.
The ex. Asons boss also believes that success in life depends on many factors, but what those exact factors are cannot be answered unequivocally. A lot of what makes a person successful in either work or their private life will depend on the character of that person and the environment under which they live.
Very famous and successful people can come from all walks of life, but if you spare a moment to think about what unites all of them, it is one very simple thing – inspiration!
Inherited wealth doesn’t always equal success
You could be one of the richest people in the world when judged on a financial scale, but being wealthy doesn’t automatically make you successful in life. Unless you have the inspiration and drive to make something of yourself and put your money to good use, you could end up living a very unfulfilled life never having realised your dreams.
Rich or poor, if you are inspired and eager to achieve something in life, even the smallest of successes can be very fulfilling. However, becoming successful at anything needs to be done with a great deal of enthusiasm, this is why you should always strive to make the positive changes you need in life as enjoyable and rewarding as you can to keep you motivated and moving forward.
Inspiration is euphoria
You always know when you meet someone that is inspired in life. They are usually in a happy state of euphoria and are so inspired and ready to turn their world upside down that you cannot help but smile at them.
Inspiration is infectious, and when you mix with positive inspired people you can end up feeling more optimistic about life. It can make you look at your world differently and can encourage you to become more self-confident and to make a positive change, such as asking for that pay rise or promotion at work that you have been striving for over the past year.
Feeling inspired can give your self-confidence a healthy boost, and better self-confidence can be a key to success in both work and family life. It can give you the drive and desire to improve your relationship with your partner.
Why not take them on that romantic mini-break that you have been promising them for the past two years! It will do you both the world of good and make your bonds of love and trust with each other even stronger.
Develop the ability to inspire and be inspired
Our human nature is capable of great things, and having the ability to be inspired and to inspire others is one of the greatest tools we have in this world. Our inspiration can drive us into taking positive action for ourselves, but also for others, which acts to make this world much better for everyone.
Inspiration is a very useful tool that can help to fill our lives with some meaning and purpose. If you can open yourself up to new ideas and allow yourself to become inspired by new things, you can then go on to help inspire others with your enthusiasm, positivity and optimism.
People often ask what is the meaning of life, but don’t you think that becoming inspired and being a person that inspires others is what life is all about? Inspired people can really make a difference in this world and make living life meaningful.
Don’t be afraid to try something new
To get inspired enough to be successful in life starts with never being afraid to try or begin something new. It is pretty simple – if you want to try something new, do it! If what you experience brings you happiness and a feeling of contentment or accomplishment, then you have achieved a small level of success, even if it isn’t exactly earth-shattering or life-changing.
You never know – starting something new could one day bring you great success, maybe more than you anticipated. For example, lots of people have learned a new language, studied for a degree, or took up a training course in their spare time that inspired them to make a positive change in career, which in turn led to a more successful and happy life.
Never be afraid of criticism
In life, you will always have the supporters that cheer you on, but also the critics that will try to drag you down. While some criticism can be well-intentioned and you can use it as a learning tool, on the whole, if you feel really positive deep in your gut about doing something new, you should never listen to criticism.
This is especially true if it is coming from a person or persons that have never dared to step out of their comfort zone and when you look at their lives you see that they have never strived to try anything new.
Quite often a lot of criticism comes from a place for fear. The person offering criticism is scared to change anything and see what you are doing as something that could challenge their status quo. They are speaking from a place of defence, security and fear – these are not people you should listen to. Instead, try to use your inspiration and success as an example for them.
By using your inspiration to set yourself free, they will see your life gradually becoming more successful and they themselves may feel more inspired to make positive changes for themselves!
Selling your inspiration for success at work
At the end of the day, if you can inspire yourself and learn to inspire others, no matter whether it is your job to sell a product or a service, you will really be selling your inspiration!
People can buy what your company offers from anywhere in the world, but the main reason they choose to buy from you and not your direct competition is that you inspire them.
When you are an inspired, enthusiastic and positive person that is enjoying your successful life, people will be genuinely inspired by you and what you do. Inspiration works like a magnet – people cannot help but want to share in the magic and the energy you give off.
While there may be absolutely no difference in what your company sells to what your closest business rival sells, the difference is you and your inspiration! No matter what work you do, sharing that magical feeling that inspires you can help to change their lives for the better, while you enjoy your own life and get a great sense of fulfilment from everything you do.
Dr Imran Akram puts it well when he says, “When you do what inspires you, it’s not really work. It’s living. This is true success!”
